National Indigenous Peoples Day

Worlding + Future Worldings, Installation view, September 28 - December 15, 2024.

This National Indigenous Peoples Day we invite you to explore our new digital archive of Worldings + Future Worldings, which reveals international resonances and divergences of the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions through the work of Indigenous researchers and artists in Canada, South Africa and beyond.

Worldings + Future Worldings were multi-year artistic  projects spanning cultural exchanges across two continents, four international artist residencies, seven artists-in-residence, three lead curators, three exhibitions, two international conferences and countless collaborators. Through text, photos, and video documentation this resource hub gives a detailed time line of all the events and happenings, from its first residency 2021 to our exhibition in 2024.

We thank our collaborator, the Aboriginal Gathering Place at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and the artists, scholars, participants and funders who were part of making this momentous project possible.
