Collecting Creativity | Art Workshop for Kids and Adults

On-site at Griffin Art Projects

Looking for an afternoon of creativity for you, your friends and/or your little ones? Join us on July 26th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm for a child-friendly tour and art exploration hosted by our Marketing and Public Programs assistant, Margaret Browning in response to our upcoming exhibition, Cameron Kerr: Collecting the Unconscious.

As a response to the exhibiting artist's exploration into our unconscious desire to collect, this workshop asks participants of all ages to take a creative approach to collecting and their own unconscious collections.

Through a zine collage workshop, participants are invited to bring their own family photographs, old magazines, crumpled receipts at the bottom of your bag, stickers you haven't stuck, business cards in the hidden pocket of your wallet, damaged library books, unfinished homework from last year, napkin doodles, grocery lists, toy packaging and everything in between. Through the unconscious act of collecting even the most mundane objects, this afternoon of creation gives participants the chance to dive deeper into their own collecting habits and create an accordion book filled with their unconscious collection.
