Identity & Cultures of Resistance in Printed Media with Gord Hill, Rachel Lau, Jenny Lin and Cole Pauls

Join four Canadian comic artists, illustrators and storytellers for a collaborative panel discussion exploring means of defining identities, retelling histories, creating cultures of resistance and reclaiming space through creative practices in the world of print and publishing. Gord Hill, Rachel Lau, Jenny Lin and Cole Pauls will deliver short presentations, followed by a group discussion and a live audience Q&A.

Offered in conjunction with Griffin’s current exhibition, Whose Chinatown? Examining Chinatown Gazes in Art, Archives and Collections, this live virtual event expands upon key themes of cultural and community preservation, and explores how printed narratives hold the power to evoke change, resist imposed narratives and inspire hope for a resilient future.
