Conversations on Collecting: At Home with Collectors: Jeffrey Boone

Conversations on Collecting: At Home with Collectors: this series will bring us into dialogue with contemporary collectors, to discuss the works they are living with as we go through this period of self-isolation at home. We consider which works speak uniquely now, works that resonate over time and contemplation, and how the relationship with collecting and collections impacts how we live and are in dialogue with artworks during this unprecedented time. Presented in collaboration with Contemporary Art Society Vancouver.

This week Jeffrey Boone takes us through some of the works in his collection, highlighting works by emerging and mid-career artists working in installation, painting, performance, photography, and video that were acquired locally, nationally, and internationally from galleries or artist-run centers. Boone also reflects upon the strange times we are in by showcasing work that speaks about displacement, hygiene, and a re-hang of art as there is more time to do so now.

Jeffrey Boone is an art enabler working with artists, collectors, dealers, and culture lovers across areas of projects, acquisitions, exhibitions, events, and tours. Jeffrey has a background in cultural event management, art consultant and as a dealer. Pre-covid he was an avid traveler and collector of contemporary art and has been the Programmer and Chair for the Contemporary Art Society of Vancouver and a patron with the Contemporary Art Society (UK), the Royal Academy (UK), and Chisenhale Gallery (UK).
